Jet ski in Rio de Janeiro

A jet ski ride across Guanabara Bay with Sugarloaf Mountain and Christ the Redeemer in view.

Riding a jet ski in Guanabara Bay gives you a view of Rio that most visitors never see: Sugarloaf rising out of the water, Christ the Redeemer above the city, and the beaches of Urca, Botafogo and Niterói around you. Without a Brazilian jet ski licence (Motonauta) you ride as a passenger behind an instructor who drives; with a licence you can drive yourself while the instructor leads the way.

Enzo arranges the jet ski, the instructor and the transfer. You choose between 30 minutes and an hour, alone or with two people on one jet ski.

What's included

  • Jet ski with fuel
  • Instructor who drives or leads the ride
  • Life jackets and safety briefing
  • Pickup and drop-off at your hotel

Questions and answers

Do I need a licence to ride a jet ski in Rio?

To drive a jet ski yourself in Brazil you need a Motonauta licence. Without one you ride as a passenger behind an instructor who drives, which is how most visitors do it. Enzo arranges either option.
